Quiet and Pale

lyrics

Quiet and Pale

I stumble around the corner
To a point I’ve never been
I think I have an answer
Then I start all over again

I don’t need any credit
Or a title below my name
It was perfect when you said it
And it felt like you felt the same

Some days burn down and get forgotten
A reminder of every glorious detail
When life won’t sound the way you want it
The alternative is quiet and pale

Here we are in the moment
We were thinkin’ might never come
It’s impossible to ignore it
Where the energy comes from

So listen like your life depended on
Gettin’ out of this what you will
Find a way to make it easier
Cuz I’m racin’ and I’m standin’ still

What if you get torn down and can’t repair it
How to ignore the tornado in your head?
You got down low and your ego is black and blue
That’s what you get for keepin’ it so well-fed

I’m still able to learn a lot
Given the days I go without
I just wish I could remember
Who I was talkin’ to or about
I wish it wasn’t so quiet
An ending not so finite
When we bring it all the way down
Like a whisper in to the night
